Kim Shuckhart Gunns is an award winning Pacific Gallery Artist member, residing in Tacoma, Washington, USA. Her art influence started as a child with both parents encouraging her creativity. Her father was a fine pen and ink artist who gave her the advice, "Do not fill in every detail; always leave something for the eye to see." In her work, Kim took her father's advice one step further, allowing the viewer to interact with the art stimulating thought and interpretation by predominately using the impressionist or abstract styles. She prefers mixed media and collage and incorporates her original poetry into many of her pieces. Kim also enjoys researching about other artists, to know the how, what and why of their pieces. Art lovers are very pleased by her creativity, the time taken, use of quality materials and personal touches she provides just for them! Her artwork has been shown at the Puyallup Fair Fine Art Show, The Karpeles Museum, Tacoma Art Museum Biz-arts Show, many art galleries, over 50 juried shows, purchased by Labor Ready's Corporate Collection and other private collections. In 2002 she participated with 16 PGA artists to paint individual outdoor wall murals for the McKinley Neighborhood Business District. 2007 found Kim traveling 17 days to six cities in China and Korea after being one of 20 jury selected Washington women artists for the Asian Pacific Cultural Center's International Artist Exchange and Show at the Yanghou Art Museum of China.
